1. The person ever held an Indian passport; or

3. The person is the spouse of a citizen of India or of a PIO and has been so for two years or more; or
4. The person and his/her parents, grand parents or great grandparents must not have been a national of Bangladesh or Pakistan at any point of time.

Also known as Overseas Citizen of India card, the OCI card represents a significant document that allows visa free entry in India for a variety of purposes. The government of India put the "U" Visa sticker on the foreign passport of OCI card holders. It bars immigration authorities from producing a foreign passport containing the "U" Visa sticker during the entry/exit of India. If the OCI card holder attains the nationality of a different country after getting this card, except for Pakistan and Bangladesh, he/she shall also be allowed to enter/exit India.
