A valid declaration for having freedom to marry is termed as unmarried certificate. Unmarried certificate affidavit is also an important form. It is a self-declaration that identifies the affiant unmarried. These both certificates and other documents, including national identity card, photocopy of passport, address proof, appointment letter, decree absolute (if divorcee), death certificate of previous spouse and change of name proof (classified of newspaper) etc.
The applicant has two options for getting unmarried certificate attested, i.e. online and in-person. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is a signing authority that attests all the documents of the applicant. If the application is sent online to the official website of the regional consul, the applicant must scan all the documents and then, send. As far as fee is concerned, it can be sent through online payment option utilizing debit card, credit card or cheque. It will take 10 business days to complete the entire processing.
